Time to Shine

Develop your public speaking skills. Share your passion. Inspire your classmates.

Today, giving great presentations are a vital skill for achieving academic and professional success. Our programmes reflect this by having the ‘art of presenting’ at the heart of their content, and allow you to discover new confidence when using English in public situations.

It’s more than just a chance to enhance your public speaking skills, though; it’s an opportunity for you to share your passion and subject knowledge with your fellow classmates. Through your presentations, you will become sources of inspiration, and encourage others to delve deeper into your subject.

For your Time to Shine project, you will engage in an independent research project on a medical topic that interests you. This project will culminate in a presentation where you will demonstrate your understanding and analysis of complex medical issues.

Project 2: “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostics” – An exploration of how AI is transforming the field of medical diagnostics, with a focus on its potential and limitations.

What should students bring to class?

Although students needn’t bring notebooks or folders to class because they are provided, students are urged to bring their own stationery.

Is there any pre reading for the Medicine course?

Although there is no preparatory reading for this course, it would be useful for students to review what they have learned if they are lacking in confidence.

What qualifications do you need to be a doctor in the UK?

To become a doctor in The UK students need to have at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9-7 (A* or A) including English, Maths and Sciences. Three A-Levels (or equivalent, for example, the International Baccalaureate IB) including Chemistry and Biology are also required.

How long does it take to become a doctor in the UK?
