Time to Shine

Develop your public speaking skills. Share your passion. Inspire your classmates.

Today, giving great presentations are a vital skill for achieving academic and professional success. Our programmes reflect this by having the ‘art of presenting’ at the heart of their content, and allow you to discover new confidence when using English in public situations.

It’s more than just a chance to enhance your public speaking skills, though; it’s an opportunity for you to develop your ability to communicate clearly in English, and share your passion and subject knowledge with your fellow classmates. Through your presentations, you will become sources of inspiration, and encourage others to delve deeper into your subject.

The Canford Collection

Can you capture the beauty and history of Canford School through your art? In our The Canford Collection project, you’ll create a series of artworks inspired by the stunning architecture and landscapes around you. This Time to Shine task challenges you to explore new art techniques while celebrating the unique charm of your surroundings.

Throughout the week, you’ll experiment with sketching, painting, and sculpture, drawing inspiration from Canford’s historic buildings and picturesque gardens. The project culminates in a presentation, where you’ll showcase your collection and explain the creative process behind each piece. You’ll teach your peers how you translated Canford’s unique environment into visual art, sharing insights into the techniques you used, the challenges you faced, and the inspirations that guided your work.

This project not only sharpens your artistic skills but also helps your peers understand how art can capture and communicate the essence of a place, encouraging them to see their surroundings through an artist’s eyes.
